Ready to hit the road
August 25 , 2009

Delaney Bus Lines held its annual school bus drivers start-up meeting on August 24 at the Ramada Inn & Conference Centre in Cornwall to prepare for the upcoming school year.

This year's meeting was comprised of two workshop sessions which included: "Preparing for the Worst: Accident Reporting Practices for Drivers" and "Solutions to School Bus Behaviour: Student Management Techniques." On hand to assist with our student management workshop was Mr. Peter Onstein, Vice-Principal at Tagwi Secondary School, who shared his expertise in student management techniques with our team of drivers. Our thanks go out to him.

Our day at the Ramada ended with a general meeting where policies and procedures were reviewed to ensure our entire team of drivers is brushed up on their duties before hitting the road in September.

As well as increasing the size of the bus on the service, a Cornwall to Ottawa monthly commuter pass will now cost only $300/month from Cornwall (see price chart for Monkland and Moose Creek prices) .

This daily service has been operating since May of 2007 with a smaller 26-passenger coach. Due to the success of that service Delaney decided to increse the bus capacity in order to reduce the cost to commuters...click here for details
